In this project, I was tasked with making two posters that related to each other. While many people went with themes many others suffered, I decided to create my pieces centered around my own trauma and mental illness. The first one represents the anxiety of ignoring all your problems and hoping they don’t pop up later.

I wanted to create a feeling of hopelessness and despair mixed into one with nightmare-like imagery created from scanned images and grain-y textures to give the illusion of a nightmare or waking up from one and reality hitting you. The second one represents overthinking and self-loathing

The two heads represent idle chatter while secretly having envy around you for those with a quote from “I have no mouth and I cannot scream” with A.M famous monologue about hate. The pills represent the medication having to take to function like a ‘normal’ person, consuming as much as you can but never being fulfilled or if they’re working.

While doing this project, we made a series of collages beforehand - selecting assets from the collages we made to create the posters.
